Assignment:

Recruiting an Area Manager in Central Finland. An Area Manager has operational and financial responsibility. Including defining sales targets, setting financial goals and leading a team of 20 specialists. This requires an excellent understanding of business finance principles but also excellent skills in  management and leadership.

Our challenge:

Our client had difficulties in defining the job description. Why? The HR director wanted these candidates to have background in a specialist role within the specific area, but deep knowledge of the role wasn’t necessary, while experience leading a specialist team was very important. We needed multiple discussions to clarify the target profile of the candidate.

Managing the task:

We decided to use the HRS Combination Search- process in this case. The service includes a combination of different recruitment methods. Suitable candidates are searched, attracted and activated to apply for the position by publishing the recruitment advertisement in an agreed media eg. LinkedIn, Monster. In addition, direct contacting is targeted at those persons with a suitable experience. This process includes a psychological assessment for the final candidates as well.

Outcomes:

After the search process: public advertisement, search and contacting the candidates we had 12 candidates to interview face to face. After that, five candidates proceeded to our client´s interviews. Our client picked two candidates for psychological assessments. After the assessments and recommendations our client made an employment contract with one of the finalists. HRS will make a follow up in six months after a contract.
